Education

I am an Elementary Education major at the University of North Carolina in Greensboro. I will be entering my final year in the education program this upcoming Fall. I currently have a 3.51 GPA and have been on the University's Dean's List for the past four semesters. This past semester, while only taking elementary education classes, I finished the semester with a 4.0 GPA earning a spot on the Honor's College Dean's list.

Experience

I volunteered for a tutoring company entitled College Bound Kids while I was in High School. During this time I worked with students aged 5 to 13. My primary focus was homework assistance and mathematics. During my journey in the Elementary Education program I had the opportunity to work with students alongside their parents in a programed called The Village Project. During this program I had first hand experience tutoring individuals and adding parental involvement throughout the lesson. I learned to create appropriate lesson plans that aligned with student needs and timing. I have taken multiple Teacher Education classes including Mathematics, Reading/Writing, Science and Social Studies. I have also observed and taught Kindergarten and 3rd grade classes, aligning my lessons with Common Core State Standards. I want to be a tutor to make an impact on a child's life. My goal is to see children succeed in everything they put their mind to. I will provide the guidance and encouragement needed to do so.

Hobbies

Some of my hobbies include dancing, playing volleyball, swimming and white water rafting. I am a member of my church's dance team. Not only do I dance, but I help create dances and teach the dances to the other members. I have played volleyball since 7th grade. I love the sport and find it fun to play it because there is team collaboration but each individual plays a big role. I also love to be outside in water! Adding an adventure to being in water (White water rafting) is the icing on the cake.
